Brigadeiros (Brazilian Chocolate Truffles)
A typical Brazilian sweet treat that’s perfect for any occasion.
Feel free to try out the different combinations suggested below.
- I can condensed milk (397g)
- 1 Tbsp Cocoa
- 1 Tbsp butter
- Cocoa powder, desiccated coconut or chocolate sprinkles for decorating
Method
Add the first 3 ingredients to a saucepan and stir on medium heat until the mixture is not sticking to the bottom of the pan.
Transfer to a dish and let cool for at least 1 hour.
Grease your hands with butter and, using a teaspoon, roll the mixture into balls and then coat with the powder, coconut or sprinkles.
The final Brigadeiro should be a soft, toffee texture.
You can switch out the 1 Tbsp cocoa powder for:
- Parmesan (a sweet/salty combo)
- Coconut
- Pistachio
You can also place different berries or grapes in the middle of the mix before rolling them into a ball (grapes, strawberries, blueberries etc.)
Roll the outside in coconut, crushed pistachios or other nuts, or different sprinkles.
