LDE London Selected to Host a Prestigious LDEI Legacy Award

LDE London is proud to announce that the chapter has been selected to host a Les Dames d’Escoffier International (LDEI) Legacy Award, marking an important milestone in raising London’s global profile and advancing our shared commitment to education, sustainability, and women’s leadership in food.

Titled “Harvesting Knowledge: A Sustainable Food Experience”, the award will offer one outstanding woman a unique, immersive opportunity centred on regenerative food systems, organic farming, and culinary innovation. Designed for professionals with at least four years’ experience across food, agriculture, beverage, or hospitality, the programme aligns closely with LDE London’s objectives: supporting meaningful career development while championing sustainable, future-facing food practices.

At the heart of the experience is a week in Ireland at Ballymaloe Cookery School and Organic Farm, where the awardee will take part in the renowned “Week of Practical Homesteading”. Led by Dame Darina Allen, the programme explores regenerative farming, traditional skills, food sovereignty, and hands-on learning within one of Europe’s most influential food education ecosystems. The recipient will also benefit from invaluable one-to-one time with Darina and the Ballymaloe team, gaining deep insight into how sustainable food systems can be lived, taught, and scaled.

The experience concludes in London with curated visits hosted by LDE London Dames, including time with leading artisan producers, offering further opportunities for exchange, learning, and connection across the UK food landscape.

Huge thanks to our Dame Patron, Darina Allen, for her generosity of spirit and unwavering commitment to education, sustainability, and the next generation of women in food. Her leadership and support make this Legacy Award truly exceptional, offering an experience that embodies the very best of Les Dames d’Escoffier International.

Being selected to host a Legacy Award reinforces LDE London’s role on the international stage and our dedication to creating transformative opportunities that support women, strengthen global networks, and deliver lasting impact across the food system.
