In addition to funding the bursary, the London Chapter tries to support other charities and philanthropic organisations which also encourage the empowerment of women through food. We have previously supported the social enterprise Luminary Bakery.  Luminary was established as a proactive way to support women who have experienced extreme disadvantage, trauma and gender-based violence to find a way out of their circumstances by learning to bake. Luminary uses baking as a tool to empower women into employment and independence and to pursue a new future for themselves.  This relationship is carried forward currently by Dame Catherine Sloman, who twice a year, teaches their Bread Baking Masterclass as part of their Employability Programme.
